I don't know about you, but I certainly feel attuned to a somewhat, frantic energy online at the moment, with all the marketing messages encouraging us to all be more visible, to be seen, to amplify ourselves, share more of ourselves, in so many ways. It can feel exhausting if we allow it to. With all the changes to social media platforms, it can feel an interesting time to be online, especially if we have an online business. Instead of following anything that others are doing, for fear of missing out, or thinking I should or need to be doing things a certain way, I'm choosing to embrace all the ways of being in my life, to flow into my business too - to feel calm, connected and confident in all that I do, and the ways I personally choose. I would love to encourage you to do this, in these times of change. Especially more so, if you're a private person, like me.
I personally see this time of change online, and some of these new platforms emerging, as a way to lean into my own values even more, my own heart space, my own belief in myself, the choices I know feel aligned for me, and to not waiver from this. To trust in what feels right - to say yes to all these things, and to say no to the rest. And doing so, feels affirming, brings me calm and ease, and builds my own confidence too, in honouring my own way. It also allows me to feel energised and renewed, aligned with my own vision, values and passion - knowing I am in a space of calm, connection and confidence, where I know with my whole being, what feels good and what doesn't. I choose to see this time of change, as empowering and liberating in knowing who I enjoy connecting with, supporting, and ways I love to do this too. I wanted to share this, as finding my own way, finding presence and joy online as a more private person, has certainly been true for me, and it may be for you too. Especially as a business owner like me, you might relate, in the wellness/ coaching space. It's been a journey to truly find and know my own way, trust in myself, and connect and share in ways that feel so right for me, aligned with my values and my own integrity, and to believe in having a successful business, and thrive here on social media, and online, as a private person. I think these times are allowing these choices to become even more aligned now too. Coming from so many years working in private practice, it was such a huge change for me, in this online space. In private practice, as a therapist and wellness practitioner, honestly none of clients needed to know or even cared about my private life. I was there to support them, and my own life just wasn't important. I don't bring any of my personal life to my client sessions - it's never about me - and I only ever share something if a client asks me to, or if I really feel it's of value. Coming into the coaching space online, I remember feeling so encouraged to suddenly become a very public person, to share so openly and to connect with others online, through sharing personal stories and honestly, for me, it really never felt right - to overshare, or to be too vulnerable. There has always been a balance I have had to find, and to know within myself, how I choose to be and show up here online. I really want to encourage you, if you are like me, and a more private person - to really know this is more than okay, and simply you being you is enough, and you never have to change who you are. Constantly thinking that you need to, can actually be damaging and disempowering, and I see this a lot in others, and if I'm honest, it concerns me deeply, for mental health and wellbeing. You being you is enough, and you don't need to constantly try to be something or someone different to who you are. The right clients will value you knowing yourself so well. The right clients will value the ways that you choose to share and connect. And that might be in ways that are not on social media - there are other ways to connect with clients and create relationships and show true support for those you really want to help and support. We attract the right people for us, in every way. Trust in this, and your way, your own journey, your own heart and life. I really want to encourage you to keep on trusting and knowing your own way. Following your own path. You can still be visible and show up consistently, be seen, and take steps out of your comfort zone to connect and share in new and uplifting ways. It feels empowering and liberating to do this. When it comes from your own inner knowing and choice. Letting go of what others are doing, others voices and words or messages feeling greater or louder, and any need to amplify our own. Making choices and changes that come from this place of belief within yourself. You are enough just as you are, in every way, and you are completely authentic and in integrity, when you truly believe in this, and choose your own way. Sharing and connecting in a way that feels right for you. No one can decide or choose that, but you. We can be private people and still create and have successful businesses, and grow these in different ways (not only social media). We can find ways to thrive and enjoy having a presence and connecting online. It's taken time and practice, and truly accepting myself as a private person, and that I will always be little less, rather than more. And that's okay for me. I have no need to change this about myself. I deeply value being a private person, knowing that I bring so much support to my clients, who value this about me too. I just keep showing up in my own way, consistently, each day, and I trust in this, and in myself. I feel calm, connected and confident as I continually embrace and choose to share and show up in ways that come from a place of self assurdeness and truth, within me. I encourage you to just be yourself. To do things in your own way. To not question that you need to be anything more than you already are, but to keep consistently showing up, and just being you. This creates sustainable growth, and as everyone says - a business is a marathon, not a race - and when I look back to my own marathon running days, I trained consistently every single day, without fail - but always, I trusted my own rythmn, my own pace, and my own way. I wonder, if something in this resonates for you, and perhaps encourages and supports you to find our own presence and joy online, and to keep doing so. I'd love to hear and know your thoughts and how you feel in these changing online times. With love x Katie PS. Feel calm, connected and confident, in every way. I'd love to support you - https://www.katiejanewellness.com/coachingsessions.html
